Etsy Listing Basics for 3D-Printed Figures

· Duck Heroes

How to title, tag, and describe a 3D-printed collectible duck so buyers can find it without misleading claims.

Search on a marketplace is mostly matching words a buyer already typed. For a 3D-printed duck, those words are the object, the theme, the size, and the material. They are not a pile of movie titles you do not have rights to use as branding.

Title

Lead with the thing in the box. A useful pattern is: what it is, the theme in plain language, then “3D printed” or “STL print” if that is how your buyers search.

Put the clearest words first. A title that starts with your shop slogan wastes the part people see in a grid.

Do not write “official.” Do not paste a studio’s trademark as if you are their store. You can name the theme buyers will recognize, and you should make it obvious this is an independent printed figure. Read how to sell legally before you publish.

First photo

The first image has to read at thumbnail size. One duck, clean background, the face large enough to see the capsule eyes if they are the point of the design. More on setup in how to photograph figures.

Extra photos should show scale, the back, the base, and any paint or magnet. A photo of a different model is a different product.

Description

Answer the questions a careful buyer asks.

  • Approximate size, in millimeters or inches, measured by you
  • Material, such as PLA, and whether it is painted
  • That it is 3D printed, so layer lines may be visible
  • What is included, and that the digital file is not included
  • Care: it is a display piece, not a bath toy, unless you have actually made it safe for that use

“Not a bath toy” matters. A collectible duck printed in ordinary PLA is not the same object as a solid rubber duck from a toy factory.

Tags and attributes

Use words you would type yourself: 3D printed figure, collectible duck, desk toy, Halloween figure, gift for a maker. Skip tags that describe a file you are not selling. You are selling a physical print.

Fill attributes the marketplace gives you, such as material and occasion, when they are true.

After it is live

Read your own listing on a phone. If the size is missing, add it. If the first photo is dark, replace it. Search for the exact phrase in your title and see whether you would click your own result.

Duck Heroes does not have a public catalog on this site yet. When files exist, your listing still has to stand on the photos and the measurements of the duck you printed, not on a render you copied from somewhere else.
